The Student Herald is aware of the massive miss-information provided to students who want to study abroad. Some of the companies involved in such practices have been in business for a long time and has developed a reputation in the market. The Student Herald is involved in an awareness program which is targeted on providing information to students on how to approach overseas education the right way. The students must be careful on how to choose a right approach to overseas education:
- Do not follow your previous batch. If they have not capitalized on the “Immigration thru Education” Track, you must!
- Today there are licensed professionals who are Overseas Career Specialists. Unfortunately, there is a trend to follow the old unlicensed organizations. Change your approach.
- Today’s “Immigration thru Education” track will allow the student to have the Work permit option as well as the PR option. To benefit from this option, please select an overseas education adviser who is approved by the Protector of Immigrants, Govt of India and also the overseas license which will allow them to represent your PR case in the country of study. A sample of the license issued by the protector of Immigrants is provided below and if you are studying in Canada, a sample of license issued by CSIC, the governing body or Immigration representatives is provided below!
- DO NOT sign any document that the agency is not responsible for Work Permits or PR. If the agency has counseled you on these possibilities, it is important that they stand by what they have said. Most big agencies get it signed and if you do not sign it, they hold your passport or your other documents.
- DO NOT allow any agency to hold your passports. Such practices are seen only in countries in the Middle East. The passport is the property of the Government of India and if an agency is holding it for ransom, please head straight to the nearest police station.
- Always sign up for all the services. Make sure you have a signed contract with the agency on all the services they provide. Make sure the contract covers Work Permits and Permanent residence in the country of study.
